Perfect Banana Waffles - 1

Banana Waffles

As with so many recipes, this one was inspired by the ingredients already in the kitchen. A bunch of very ripe bananas met my son’s request for waffles.

I played with our Buttermilk Waffle recipe a bit and the happy result is a beautifully crisp waffle that is almost unbelievably light and fluffy inside with plenty of banana flavor.

I am so giddy over these banana waffles that I made them twice this week, just to make sure they were as perfect as I remembered. And yes, they really are amazing.

On their own, or topped with Buttermilk Syrup , Waffle Sauce , Brown Sugar Butter Syrup , peanut butter, whipped cream , or good old maple syrup, these Banana Waffles are a great idea any day of the week.

Waffles, Waffles, and More Waffles

While there are endless options for waffle toppings , there are also endless varieties of waffles waiting to be made.

Sweet options like Blueberry Waffles or Maple Glazed Doughnut Waffles will always be popular, as will classic waffles with waffle sauce or syrup.

The game-changer in our waffle-loving world has been savory waffles. Ham and Cheese Waffles , Cornbread Waffles (pile them high with BBQ pork and coleslaw for a fantastic dinner), Cheddar Bacon Green Chile Waffles , and Cheddar Chive Waffles with Sausage Gravy .

My family loves waffles pretty much any way we can make them. What’s your favorite waffle combination?
